Measuring your wall

When ordering your custom wallpaper, it’s essential to provide the correct height and width. The height you enter will determine the height of each wallpaper strip you receive. Once you input the dimensions of your wall, we’ll display the width of the strips.
Different situations may require different measuring methods. In this article, we’ll guide you on how to measure your wall accurately.

Straight wall

A straight wall is the easiest type of wall to measure. However, it’s important to take measurements at multiple points, as walls are not always perfectly straight, especially in older houses. We recommend measuring the wall at several locations, both in width and height.

By measuring the height and width in at least two places, you can ensure you’ll have enough wallpaper. Use the largest measurement for both the width and the height. This way, even if your wall isn’t completely straight, you’ll still have enough wallpaper to cover it properly.

Measure the width

Use a measuring stick or tape measure to determine the width of the wall, as shown in the example. Be sure to measure over any floor trims or skirting boards to avoid running out of wallpaper later.
For accuracy, measure both the top and bottom of the wall. This ensures you order enough wallpaper, even if the wall isn’t perfectly straight. Use the widest measurement as the width for your wallpaper.

Measure the height

The height of the wall is best measured in three places: on the left, right, and in the middle. This ensures your wallpaper won’t be too short if the wall isn’t perfectly straight. Always include any skirting boards or floor trims in your measurements.
Any excess wallpaper can easily be trimmed with a knife once the wallpaper has been applied to the wall.
